Guess What? I Finally convinced J.W. he needed a new truck. Well, maybe it wasn't so much as me convincing him as the fact that our family doesn't even fit in the truck. But really I think it was that he can't pull his trailer and 4 wheelers very well with it! Whatever the reason, he finally got a new one!
The Ranger, believe it or not, is still running okay. J.W. has had it for 15 years! The truck has 180,000 + miles on it. It has a leaky transmission seal or something like that but it works fine. He is going to give it to his mom because she has been without a vehicle for 3 or 4 months or something like that.
J.W. has always wanted a Dodge Dakota since forever so that it what he tried to find. If you know J.W., you know he is a total internet shopper. He looked online for quite awhile. I made him go to a dealership so I could touch & feel & see what a Dakota even is! We found one at a dealership, it had a "Cowgirl Up" decal on the back and that kind of deterred J.W. from getting that one (along with a bunch of other mess). Well, he found one on the internet that was perfect for him, great price, right color, everything. Only problem.... it was in Idaho Falls. He was actually so excited about wanting that truck and getting that truck he couldn't sleep!
Well, guess what? We took a 36 minute flight to Idaho Falls on Tuesday and he bought it! It's a really cool truck. It's blue, just like he wanted, has 4 doors, 4 wheel drive, and all the bells and whistles. It is stick shift, which makes it fun to drive. We had a really nice drive home and got Sammie from a friends house.
And guess what else? My crappy minivan is in the shop getting a stupid expensive repair done just so it can pass inspection, although it drives just fine. But the good news is, I get to drive the new truck! J.W. took the Ranger to work for five days. Sammie and Felicity both love the truck. Felicity keeps saying "coooool truck". Sammie just loves it, almost as much as her 4 wheeler.
So, how long is the longest you have ever kept a vehicle? Anyone beat 15 years? Okay, the rule is, it has to be the primary vehicle you drive. Anyone, Anyone? I'll bet no one can beat that.
Here it is.
